About
Good work begins before the machine ever turns on.
Stillwater Forge exists because too many physical problems get solved with whatever’s closest on the shelf, instead of what actually fits.
An engineering mindset, applied to real problems
Before a machine ever turns on, the material, the dimensions, the tolerances, the workflow, the manufacturing method, and the end use are all worked out first. That ordering matters. It’s the difference between a part that technically exists and a part that actually does its job for years.
Stillwater Forge is built around that ordering — CAD and design work first, prototyping where it matters, and fabrication last. Modern design tools paired with real, hands-on fabrication: wood, slate, printed polymer, and mixed materials worked with the same attention whether the job is a single part or a production run.
Building instead of settling
When the right part doesn’t exist off-the-shelf, the answer isn’t a worse compromise — it’s designing the part that should exist.
Built for the long haul
Materials and methods are chosen for durability, not the lowest cost per unit. Heirloom-quality where the work calls for it.
Refined, not reinvented every time
Successful processes are documented and repeated. What works gets refined and carried forward into the next project.
A serious, long-term fabrication company
Stillwater Forge is based in South Carolina and built on a simple premise: a small physical problem, solved correctly, is worth more than a fast, generic one. That applies whether the work is a one-off commissioned piece, a production aid for a local business, or a short run of branded products. The goal isn’t to be the biggest shop — it’s to be the one you call when something needs to be designed and built correctly, and doesn’t already exist.
